Theatre play 'Fragments of a Fleeting Life'
This theatre show like nothing else casted a light on how important it is to be able to improvise and most of all get the audience on your side, that is, make them be engaged in the show and feel a part of it rather then be a passive and inactive viewer. As that happens, audience very often gives you reactions you did not predict before, because it is hard to know what will some genuine reaction actually be, and more than that, reactions can be very different on different show days for one play. Looking at this example, we have practiced a very dramatic scene for the opening of the play, however, first line being a joke it all set the tone for a comedy. Parts we practiced for months as dramatic brought so much laughter that we had to switch the tone of some lines and add jokes here and there. Most importantly, I was able to stay in character and develop the play in the way in which was most engaging to the audience, at the same time keeping the plot together.
